So called Pseudolites (PSL) were emulating and emitting Galileo like signals within the L-Band. The system was operated within the vicinity of the Rostock port and covered an area of around 20 square kilometers. Based on a specific PSL capable receiver users could have taken advantage to use these signals for absolute positioning. The signals were in conformity with the \u201cOpen Service Signal in Space Interface Control Document Draft 1\u201d of the European Global Navigation Satellite System Galileo. <\/p>\n<p><!--\nInsofar SEA Gate offers the development for Galileo based applications based on Galileo signals.\n\nSubstantially Sea Gate is offering:\n\n\n<ul>\n \t\n\n<li>the provision of a maritime test infrastructure for Galileo signals,<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>the test and trial of position algorithms and methods for safety related applications,<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>the development of products and the test of them within a real testbed under real environmental conditions.<\/li>\n\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\nSince November 2015 SEA GATE is operated by the Forschungs-GmbH Wismar in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences Wismar, the University of Rostock and the German Aerospace Center. The operational business is agreed by contract until the 30th of October 2017. The signals of the SEA GATE system have been free-to air, but require a specific configured receiver to process PSL signals. For a service charge the operator is offering support services within the scope of measurement campaigns as well as the borrowing of appropriate equipment. \n--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SEA Gate has been deactivated and decommissioned on 30th October 2017.
